In this interview, we sit down with Adriano, a Program Manager for Data Science and Generative AI at Constructor Academy in Germany. Adriano shares his journey from hospitality management to data science, and gives us an inside look at the upcoming six-week course in Generative AI.
 

Adriano, tell us a bit about yourself and your career journey.

Hello everyone, I'm Adriano. I originally come from a computer science background, but I spent many years working in the hospitality industry as a general manager. About two years ago, I decided it was time for a career change. I completed an intensive Data Science course with Constructor Academy, which marked the beginning of my new path. Since then, I’ve taken on roles as a teaching assistant, and now, I’m the Program Manager for Data Science and Generative AI in Germany.
 

Can you tell us more about the Generative AI course you’re managing? Who is the course designed for?

This is a six-week, fully remote, part-time course designed to introduce participants to the fascinating field of generative AI. It’s perfect for those who are curious about the technology behind generative AI and want to learn how to generate text, videos, images, and even code. The curriculum covers everything from basic prompting techniques to creating chatbots and agents. The best part is, there’s no coding required, so the course is very beginner-friendly. We will also focus on applying generative AI in real-world industry scenarios, which makes it highly relevant and practical.
 

What does the course schedule look like? What is the course about?

The course spans six weeks, with live online sessions every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Each class is conducted live, giving participants a chance to interact with instructors in real time. We also have a Discord channel where students can discuss the day’s topics and engage with one another outside of class.
 

It sounds like flexibility is a big part of this course. Can you elaborate on that, what can someone expect?

Yes, flexibility is definitely a key feature. Since the course takes place in the evenings, it’s ideal for those who work during the day or have other commitments. The live format ensures that you’re not just passively watching recordings but engaging with real teachers and receiving live mentoring. No matter your background, you can achieve great results through this course, and we’ll guide you on how to apply generative AI in both your personal and professional life.
 

What kind of support can participants expect throughout the course, and what are the main benefits of the course?

In addition to the live lectures, there will be mentoring sessions where participants can get advice on how to integrate generative AI into their everyday lives. Towards the end of the course, you’ll work on a final project where you can apply what you’ve learned by building a generative AI solution, such as a chatbot, and using popular industry libraries.
